Never Let the Bell Ring in Vain

A cool, aloof senior student X a sweet, edgy girl. This is their story. Eighteen-year-old Li Chunchun moves to City A with her father, who is raising her alone. Because of this, she has been shy and introverted since childhood. Then Wan Yuling appears, like a song that fills her entire eighteenth year. For Wan Yuling, too, Li Chunchun's arrival is like a ray of light, bringing warmth to her entire seventeenth year. Sadly, even though they both love each other, they cannot escape society's gossip, and they lack the courage to face it. And so the girls' youth comes to an end. When they meet again, Li Chunchun is lying in a hospital bed, the breathing machine accompanying each whispered cry of "Little Bell... Little Bell." Beside the bed, Wan Yuling sobs uncontrollably. "I'm here... Sister Chunchun... I'm... here." They are only thirty-six. One has never married, and neither has the other. You might say they loved each other, and yet this is how it ends. You might say they didn't love each other, but traces of their love are everywhere.
