Turned into Cats with My Nemesis

Qu Qing and Jiang Shangfeng were like two trains speeding in the same direction, competing from school all the way into their careers. Then one rainy night, they derailed and crashed into each other.

In a literal car accident, their souls separated from their bodies, and they turned into cats.

Qu Qing, in a gorgeous calico coat, looked over at Jiang Shangfeng in his black-and-white cow cat skin and scoffed inwardly: Even the gods know Jiang is a nutcase.

Being a stray cat wasn't easy. You had to act cute and sell your charms. Qu Qing refused to stoop so low, but then Jiang Shangfeng bragged about his canned cat food, so Qu Qing gritted his teeth and rolled over: As if I can't do that too! I'll even throw in a salute and a paw dance!

Later, the two cats latched onto a rich benefactor. From then on, they admired osmanthus blossoms in autumn and walked through snow in winter. When they were happy, they helped their owner sort out life's troubles. When they weren't, they simply lay down and slept. As humans, they wanted to be top dogs; as cats, they wanted to lie flat.

Still, being cats came with plenty of inconveniences...

Qu Cat was a clean freak, but couldn't stand licking his own fur.

Jiang Cat sidled up to him. "Call me big brother, and I'll help you."

Jiang Cat had short fur and shivered in the cold night.

Qu Cat sneered. "Call me big brother, and I'll let you squeeze into my cat bed."

Jiang Cat went into heat: sleepless and gloomy, craving cuddles.

Qu Cat went into heat: irritable and temperamental, itching for a fight.

Their owner had no idea what was going on, and was busy trying to find wives for his two clever, adorable bachelors. Little did he know that the two cats had long been carrying on behind his back, reveling in the sweet thrill of conquering their nemesis.

Not long after they fell in love, a god appeared and told them they could return to their original bodies, but only one of them would get to keep his memories...
