The Final Battle.
Ding Ning and her archenemy fell together onto a planet crawling with danger and bugs.
Ding Ning jumped down of her own accord, planning to fake her death.
She was the supreme commander leading humanity's resistance against the insectoid race. She had fought hundreds of textbook-perfect victorious battles and was revered as the God of War who created the world.
Her archenemy had also jumped down willingly, in order to save her.
Gale was the brightest rising star in the human army, born to nobility and blessed with perfect looks. His number of victorious battles was closing in on General Ding Ning's.
Both of them were leading candidates to become the founding emperor.
Ding Ning thought her archenemy had followed her down because he wanted to kill her without anyone noticing.
But she never expected Gale to genuinely work hard to keep her alive, looking at her with clear blue eyes as he quietly begged her to survive.
The furious, prickly hedgehog suddenly turned into a pitiful, devoted puppy.
He reminded her a little of a young pup Ding Ning had picked up years ago, making her feel nostalgic.
In the end, they were rescued, bringing their time alone to an end.
Her archenemy suddenly grew sentimental. "Even though you never remembered my name, abandoned me, and left me to fend for myself in the army, I still like you."
Ding Ning: ? I don't remember any of that.
There was no time to explain.
The power in both their mechs was running low.
Ding Ning gave him a shove.
The recoil sent her tumbling into the swarm of bugs below.
With everyone watching, she successfully faked her death.
-
Humanity won the Final Battle, defeating the insectoid race and bringing an end to centuries of chaos.
Her archenemy became the founding emperor.
The first page of history was turned.
Ding Ning, who had originally been an utter mess, was recast as an eternally shining star, wise and brave, invincible in battle, and worshipped by all.
The first chapter of the founding history: General Ding Ning took one look at the young emperor and became enamored with him. She doted on him, kept him by her side, and carefully taught him everything.
"Stop!"
Ding Ning crawled out from under a machine, her hands covered in grease. She rolled her eyes without a shred of dignity and said to the new pup she'd picked up, "What kind of bullshit are you reading?"
The pup objected. "This is official history."
Ding Ning: "Bullshit official history."
-
This pup wasn't exactly well-behaved either. He single-handedly turned the entire slum upside down.
It was at this time that the great emperor of the empire also found Ding Ning's whereabouts.
As His Majesty the Emperor's noble foot stepped onto the grease-covered ground,
the pup beside her was being held by someone, baring his teeth and struggling wildly.
The emperor glanced at the pup and said coolly to Ding Ning, "So you like them a little wild."
"I can be like that too."
Ding Ning: …?

A deeply devoted emperor who makes his own romantic moments VS a naturally callous, ill-tempered female general.
Reader's Guide:
1. There's quite a large age gap, with the woman older than the man. People in this interstellar setting can live for two to three hundred years.
2. The female lead is naturally callous: she uses people and then discards them. The male lead still keeps throwing himself at her. Don't read if that bothers you.
3. Not a strong female lead story. An unserious take on a serious drama, set in an original world.
This premise is the author's beloved, and I absolutely love it! So it may be a long time before I start preparing it.
Theme: Be your own hero.
