Surviving a Drought

After being reborn, the first thing Song Yu did was quit her job and return to her hometown.

On the way home, she stocked up on supplies, spending all 400,000 yuan she had saved over several years of work.

Rice, flour, cooking oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, fruit, clothes, medicine, seeds...

She returned home with a whole space full of supplies. When she saw Grandma waiting for her at the door, she couldn't hold back her tears and threw herself into Grandma's arms.

"Grandma, I'll never let you go hungry again!"

Nobody knew that a year later, a global drought would strike.

Grandma died in the fifth year of the drought. Her stomach was sunken, and Song Yu cut flesh from her own body to feed Grandma, but Grandma never opened her mouth before she died.

Song Yu died the following year in a village brawl. In the chaos, someone struck the back of her head with a hammer. After the blinding pain, she knew nothing more.

Reborn one year earlier, Song Yu decided to prepare thoroughly. Grandma had raised her, and now she would make sure Grandma had someone to rely on in her old age, with plenty to eat and wear, and a peaceful retirement.
