Recently, a human trafficking ring in Nanjing has grown increasingly brazen, kidnapping people in broad daylight, smuggling them across borders, and trafficking them, stopping at nothing. The Nanjing government has formed a special police unit to catch them. But no one knows who leads the ring, or how its members have repeatedly evaded arrest.
Luo Qiao, a law student at Nanjing University, often dreams of a general named Ren Liang. In real life, she meets someone with the same name. They first meet one night when Luo Qiao is being followed. By a twist of fate, she runs into Officer Ren Liang, and it is love at first sight. They begin a whirlwind romance.
Two years into their relationship, they move in together. One morning, Ren Liang rushes out without shutting down his computer. To Luo Qiao’s shock, she finds information on all the missing people stored on it. She takes photos, leaves their home, and secretly calls the police. Working with them from the inside, she helps capture several traffickers, including the ring’s leader.
In an abandoned basement somewhere beyond their view, the group is holding a meeting.
