A Beauty's Favor

Pei Shao, the eldest son of the Prince of Liang, is of noble birth and handsome. Unfortunately, as a boy, he fell into icy water and didn't receive treatment in time. The resulting injuries left him with difficulty walking and a capricious temperament.

The Prince of Liang intended to cancel his son's betrothal, saying frankly that the Marquis's legitimate daughter was renowned for her beauty, and they didn't want to hold her back.

The sons of high-ranking officials began making their own moves, each waiting to be the first to send a betrothal letter and gifts, and marry the most beautiful woman in the capital.

But at that very moment, beneath silk curtains, the beauty clung coquettishly to her grandmother. "Dear Grandma, please don't agree to cancel the engagement. I only want to marry Brother Pei."

Su Junyao had a little secret that only she knew: that winter, Pei Shao had fallen into the icy river while passing by because he was trying to save her.

She had been so wracked with guilt over the years that she could barely sleep, but she didn't dare tell anyone.

Su Junyao sighed. Perhaps the only cure for her heartache was to repay him by marrying him.

Little did she know that after she married him, her heartache would be cured, but she would still lie awake night after night...
