The System tells Ruan Cheng that he is in the world of a book, where he is the cannon-fodder ex-boyfriend of the protagonist gong, Fu Shiyan. His character settings have gone wrong, and if he doesn't follow the System's instructions and play out the plot, he'll be erased.
The good student's character settings are indeed absurdly wrong. Ruan Cheng gets top marks in every class, but has no idea how to date. With his single-guy skills, he spins the table when Xiao Fu reaches for food, chats away when Xiao Fu talks, and cheers when Xiao Fu gets into a fight. Even so, he diligently completes the entire plot and successfully makes his escape.
Years later, Ruan Cheng is summoned back by his family and forced into an arranged marriage.
To infuriate the blind date rumored to have an O-complex, Ruan Cheng sits down and immediately announces:
He still has his first love's contact information, and photos of more than four hundred ex-boyfriends saved on his phone.
Only after he says this does he realize the blind date has been replaced by someone else. Fu Shiyan looks up with a dangerous expression. So the first-love story was fake, but are those more than four hundred ex-boyfriends real?
The System regretfully informs Ruan Cheng that, due to changing market tastes, the author has upgraded his role from cannon-fodder to ex-husband. If he can get through three years of contractual marriage, he'll be free again!
N years later.
Ruan Cheng, exhausted: "Hey, System, you promised I'd only have to be cannon fodder for three years. But then it was three more years, and then three more years after that. If I don't leave soon, the romance plot of this book will have to be written in my next life. I'm going to become the protagonist gong's former urn-sharing roommate..."
Cold on the outside, warm on the inside, stubborn but soft-hearted, devoted gong x hooker who doesn't realize he's hooking, with an eccentric train of thought shou
