Everyone at Number One High knew Ren Chi, the school's notorious rebel. He was unruly, got into fights, skipped class, and wasn't bad-looking. Girls pursued him in droves, all because of his looks. Half the posts on the school's confession wall had the name "Ren Chi" on them.

Lately, people at school had been saying Ren Chi had his eye on a girl named Meng Xiao. They heard she was incredibly pure and pretty, but also a little princess who'd been spoiled by her parents since childhood and couldn't handle the slightest hardship. What did Ren Chi see in her? She was so delicate and pampered. After they got married, Ren Chi would probably have to wait on her, right?

Knowing Ren Chi, that was about as likely as a miracle.

Four years later.

Meng Xiao sat on the sofa, scrolling through her phone. She came across a post, bit her lip, and struggled to hold back a laugh. Then she got up and ran barefoot over to the desk, pattering along as she held her phone out to the young man sitting in a chair, writing his thesis. Ren Chi looked up, took the phone, and read the post.

The title was "Ren Chi Has His Eye on Little Princess Meng Xiao?" It had been posted four years ago, back when they were in their second year of high school.

Ren Chi gave a quiet scoff. "Why are you showing me this?"

Meng Xiao pursed her lips, scrolled down, and pointed to a comment.

"If those two really get together, Ren Chi will have to wait on that delicate little princess, won't he? That'd only happen if an iron tree bloomed!"

Ren Chi finished reading, said nothing, handed the phone back to Meng Xiao, and continued writing his thesis.

Meng Xiao blinked. The smile gradually faded from her eyes. She turned and leaned against the desk, murmuring to herself, "Am I really that spoiled?"

Ren Chi put down his pen and looked at her back. "Is that the point?"

Meng Xiao turned around. "Then what is?"

Ren Chi crooked a finger, beckoning her over. When Meng Xiao came closer, he kissed her earlobe and whispered in her ear, "The iron tree has bloomed."
