After Coming Out of Character [Showbiz]

Blurb 1:

Sheng Jinan is a beautiful actress with equally impressive acting skills. She became famous at a young age and has starred in several hit dramas. Fans call her a "six-sided starlet."

Ning Song is a rare male star who combines youthful charm with a tough-guy image. He shot to fame last year with an action film and became one of the hottest up-and-coming actors.

Both top-tier stars are famously free of dating rumors in the entertainment industry. Their only connection is that they co-starred in a campus film seven years ago, and they haven't worked together since.

Few people have ever linked their love lives, though a small group of fans quietly ship them as a real-life couple because they're both so good-looking.

Then one day, Sheng Jinan appeared on a lifestyle variety show, and Ning Song joined shortly afterward.

The guests sang together. Sheng Jinan was tone-deaf, and her friend Lan Qian mercilessly teased her, saying that other people sang for money, but Sheng sang to kill.

Only Ning Song was completely serious. "Actually, this song just doesn't suit Teacher Sheng's voice."

Lan Qian, the original singer and songwriter: "..."

So it's my fault, then!

Netizen A: So it's not that I sing badly. I just haven't met someone willing to save my dignity!

Netizen B: At this point, not shipping them would be rude.

Blurb 2:

Rumor has it that newly crowned Best Actor Ning Song is willing to take a supporting role in a film starring Sheng Jinan.

In an interview with a magazine, a reporter asked Ning Song about it. He openly admitted, "I choose roles mainly based on the script, not on billing."

The reporter pressed him: "If Sheng weren't the female lead in this film, would you still have accepted the offer?"

"Of course not!"

Reporter: "..."

While filming together, Ning Song and Sheng Jinan had to redo their kissing scene countless times.

Sheng Jinan snapped, "Ning Song, can you do this or not? If you can't, I'll get someone else!"

Ning Song touched the corner of his mouth and replied hoarsely, "An'an, you shouldn't say things like that."

Later, after they got together, Sheng Jinan ended up with an aching waist and weak knees. Only then did she understand what Ning Song had meant.

Ning Song, you're really something!

Reader's guide:

1. Both leads are actors, not idols. They aren't based on real people, so please don't associate them with the real entertainment industry. The age gap is two years, 27 and 25. One-on-one relationship, both are each other's first and only partners, and there's a happy ending.

2. The variety show setup is inspired by real life, but the characters aren't based on real people. Netizens appear in the comments, so don't read if that bothers you.

3. The original blurb was saved on May 28, 2023. It has been revised since then, and all versions have been archived.

Theme: A good relationship takes care and effort.
