(I don't want to keep stockpiling chapters, so I'm putting a few out to prove I have this daughter.)
Yayoi, the exorcist Hyakumeki from the Yin-Yang Bureau, thought that after transmigrating into a manga set in the future, she could finally enjoy a peaceful retirement. No more dealing with hordes of evil spirits. She could spend her days joking around with her five adopted sons from the police academy, slack off at work after graduation, then go out to eat with her dear friends after clocking off and enjoy life.
Who knew the System would reveal a manga with titles like these:
#A high schooler gets hit with a stick once a year and turns into an elementary schooler!
#Beika Town, where corpses rain from the sky and the locals are wonderfully wholesome!
#The five members of the police academy's five-kill-four squad are right here beside me!
Good grief, it even has soccer balls blowing up satellites, catching bullets with bare hands, cars doing backflips, and silver bullets chasing trains, among a whole series of scientifically impossible scenes more absurd than anything supernatural.
Yayoi's pupils trembled: What the heck is all this?!
...Is it too late for her to start over?
After learning that catching ghosts could save her five unlucky friends from their fates, Yayoi got fired up and set out on her ghost-catching mission.
But everyone, isn't something wrong with the way this plot is going?
[Bad ending unlocked: Police Academy Student - Sakura with a Broken Branch]
[Bad ending unlocked: Silent One - Friends Turned Strangers]
[Bad ending unlocked: Test Subject - Betrayal Forgotten]
[Bad ending unlocked: Lone Wanderer - Gaze into the Abyss]
Yayoi sucked in a huge breath through her respirator and finally made it to the ending, only to find that this plot was completely messed up in the head.
This time, we get both the police academy's five-kill-four and a one-for-six at the limit. (Silence)
"Do six-petaled cherry blossoms really exist?"
"Here, the bright evening sun never sets, while outside the cherry blossoms have begun to drift away. - Cherry Blossoms in Winter, Shinagawa Kazue (Japan)"
Content warnings:
1) Third-person narration throughout. Happy ending. The female lead has no romantic pairing, with a few one-sided crushes.
2) Zero and Mazda get put through the wringer. The police academy group receives an unconventional rescue (they die and come back to life, with ghost elements).
3) The protagonist is a hard-core fan of the Red faction, but occupies the gray area. She grew up with a certain hard-working member of a liquor company and is also a close friend of the police academy group.
4) The female lead lacks some normal human emotions, but would die for the people who matter to her.
5) The protagonist doesn't age. She has a naturally blank, slightly spacey face. With short hair, she's often mistaken for a boy, and she disguises herself as one during the police academy arc.
Theme: Friendship is magic (in that kind of tone).
