How do you win over a vampire?
The answer is simple: Make her fall in love with you.
In a dark, chilly old castle deep in the forest lived a noble female vampire, Countess Romi. After spending more than three hundred years as a shut-in, she had also read more than three hundred classic romance novels.
Beneath her chaste, aloof facade lay a heart stirred by the romantic novels she had read.
Then one day, a man lost his way and accidentally wandered into the castle.
As soon as he entered, he sensed something was wrong. Why did everything seem so eerie? It felt as if someone was watching him.
The furniture could talk. Chairs ran around, the fireplace spontaneously burst into flames, and the mop cleaned by itself...
Even the figure in the painting on the wall rolled its eyes, moved its lips, and asked, "Why do you keep staring at me?"
David jumped in fright. Pale with terror, he hurried backward, caught his foot on the rug, and fell. His teeth chattered uncontrollably.
"Heh heh, don’t be afraid. I just enchanted them."
A light, high-pitched female voice drifted from far away with a laugh. It carried an air of arrogance and a hint of disdain, floating down from above and filling every corner.
Candles lit themselves one by one, drawing closer. Their dim light flickered as David followed the stairs with his gaze, looking higher and higher until, at the very top, he finally saw the woman seated on the throne.
She wore a black coat and exuded elegance and nobility. Her left leg was crossed arrogantly over her right. Her long, thick, black curls framed a pale, bloodless face. A faint candlelit gleam shrouded her dark eyes. She was alluring and enchanting, watching the man at the foot of the stairs with an amused, mocking smile and a meaningful look.
"In all these years, you’re the first human to come here. How timely. I happen to need a slave." Romi held a wineglass in her right hand and took a sip. Her lips curled into a smile as she looked at David like he was prey.
"Sorry, I got lost. I didn’t mean to intrude. I’ll be going now." David clearly sensed the danger, but still tried to remain calm as he hurried to get away.
"Too late." Romi lightly curled her index finger, and the castle doors slammed shut in an instant.
