Cheng Shisan: The illegitimate daughter of the third branch of the merchant Cheng family. In her second year after transmigrating, her deadbeat father sent her to the Marquis's residence as a concubine, in exchange for the value of a salt estate.
Who could have guessed that the old Marquis would die just after she arrived? The red wedding silks barely hung for a day before they were replaced with white mourning cloth, and the bride was carried off to an abandoned courtyard where nobody cared about her.
From then on, she spent her days shooting birds and her nights fishing, enjoying a carefree life.
One day, the System activated, and the first order Cheng Shisan received was to raise a child!
The problem was, this child would grow up to be a powerful villain who would dominate the court!
So, after two years of climbing trees to raid bird nests and fishing in the river, the System couldn't take it anymore.
System: [Host, please review the proper child-rearing techniques.]
Cheng Shisan: ...
System: Warning!! If you refuse to comply, this System will automatically destroy your physical body.
Cheng Shisan: "Come here, good boy. Your mother will teach you to read."
Xie Yongan: ...
After finally raising the child, Cheng Shisan packed her things and prepared to run away.
System: Affection has reached one hundred percent. Hidden mission commencing: Hell Mode, marry the villain. Please check your task details.
Cheng Shisan: What? I raised a kid and ended up getting myself trapped? I'm not doing it!
System: Host refusal detected. Self-destruct mode commencing. Countdown starting...
Cheng Shisan: ...Thank you so much.
She'd rather die than go through with it! The System didn't self-destruct after she ran away, but a man who suddenly appeared at her door looked very familiar.
Cheng Shisan: How did you find me?
Xie Yongan: The System told me.
Cheng Shisan: Traitor!
