The essence of trashy scum-gong stories is that the scum gong mistreats the shou in every way at first, then regrets it too late.
Pei Ye, a new employee at the quick transmigration bureau, has a daily job: play these scum gongs that readers love to curse, and livestream it for the audience. He can enter the next world only after the audience agrees to an HE ending.
But after Pei Ye gets the scripts and reads through each world's plot, his head fills with question marks.
Is there something wrong with these supposedly scummy gongs?
World One:
The fake young master shou grew up showered with love. When he grew up, he discovered that the nanny had deliberately switched him at birth. From then on, his wealthy adoptive parents treated him with cold indifference. His outlook warped, and he decided to take revenge on the real young master gong.
Readers: The fake young master shou is so pitiful. He lost all that love, while the real young master gong has everything that belonged to him. The gong has to chase his wife all the way to the crematorium!
Pei Ye: ??? The real young master gong had his life deliberately switched by the nanny, was abused, and is deaf. He was unknowingly targeted for revenge by the fake young master shou, then gave everything up and left with him. And you still call the real young master a scum gong???
World Two:
The gay shou has had a crush on the straight gong since they were students. After graduation, he follows the gong into the same company. Even after the gong turns him down, he doesn't give up. At last, the gong agrees to give it a try with him.
Readers: The gay shou's perseverance is admirable. After pursuing him for ten years, he's finally reaped the rewards and found true love. But why is the straight gong so unenthusiastic? If you don't like him, you don't have to say yes. What a scumbag!
Pei Ye: ??? The gong was straight for over twenty years. Every time he dated someone, the gay shou followed him around and scared all the girls off. The straight gong clearly rejected him, but the gay shou kept pursuing him without wavering. When the gong finally became gay, he was called a scum gong just because he wasn't as enthusiastic as the shou had been toward him???
World Three:
The prince shou will do anything to claim the throne. He even gives himself to the swordsman gong so the gong can eliminate his rivals. Once the prince gets what he wants, he gets rid of the swordsman gong. But through the long, lonely nights in the imperial palace, there is no one left by his side.
Readers: A man has to make sacrifices for his career. But the swordsman gong survived, and now the prince shou regrets it so much he could die. Why can't he forgive him? The swordsman gong is such a scum!
Pei Ye: ??? The prince shou killed all the swordsman gong's family for the throne, then used the life of the gong's friend to threaten and bribe him. The swordsman gong was lucky to survive, and now he's a scum gong just because he doesn't want to forgive his enemy???
Pei Ye could take no more and kicked over a trash can. This script was completely off the mark!
Then he noticed that no matter how many worlds he went through, there was always someone standing quietly behind him, watching over him.
That person seems pretty nice!
Audience: You two, get your HE ending!!!
Reader's Guide:
1. Gong POV. The shou is in love with the gong, and the same person is the shou in every world.
2. Some stories feel different from another point of view. This isn't meant to whitewash any real scum gongs, but some of them are what I consider fake scum gongs.
3. I'm writing for love, telling the stories I like. I can't guarantee everyone will enjoy them. The author is sensitive, so if something bothers you, please leave in time. There's no need to get angry.
Theme: Leave the trash behind. Something better lies ahead.
