The Empress Dowager Is on the Clock

After transmigrating, Yun Wanzhi diligently served for ten years as the empress who succeeded her predecessor.

Though she had no children, she was fortunate enough to see her husband die an early death, and became empress dowager at thirty-five.

Her thoughts: Thanks. I want to clock out now.

For ten years, schemes never stopped, and there was fighting both inside and outside the palace. Even coasting through it all gave her a headache.

But being empress dowager wasn't exactly an easy job either.

The new emperor was the eldest son of a former favorite consort. His mother had died young, and he was promiscuous and fickle, constantly causing trouble.

A favored concubine suddenly fell out of favor and came to cry in front of her.

Yun Wanzhi: What's the point?

A favorite consort came up with a scheme and was summoned for a scolding.

Yun Wanzhi: What's the point?

The harem was constantly in chaos, the court was full of complaints, and the emperor could barely hold things together. He came to her for help.

Yun Wanzhi wondered: What's the point of all this?

Before three years had passed, she was exhausted.

...Are these emperors even up to the job?

Does each generation really have to be worse than the last?

Stop going crazy, everyone. In this dynasty, women are forbidden from fighting one another for favor!
