Look at Me Again, I Dare You

[There will be a getting-back-together arc later on. Read with caution.]

Yucheng No. 1 High School has two treasures.

The first is Pei Ci, a top student who has held onto first place in his grade ever since enrolling. In his teachers' eyes, he's the model student who excels in every way.

The other is Ning Ye, the leader who keeps the school's gang of troublemakers in line. His grades are at the bottom of the class, but nobody can beat him at cracking jokes and clowning around.

But Ning Ye is deeply annoyed that anyone would put him in the same league as Pei Ci.

It's nothing personal. It's just that Pei Ci is always somehow involved whenever Ning Ye has to read a self-criticism under the flag.

When he skips class, Pei Ci is the one who reports him to the teachers.

When he gets into a fight, Pei Ci can lead the dean straight to the scene.

Even when he sneaks up to the rooftop for a cigarette, Pei Ci catches him and confiscates it.

Ning Ye can't figure it out. He can only assume that he and Pei Ci are incompatible by fate, destined to clash.

Then one day, Ning Ye decides to set a trap. He wants to get his hands on the little notebook where Pei Ci records his "crimes" and throw it away, so the teachers will stop bothering his family.

At last, he manages to grab the notebook and take a look. His name, "Ning Ye," is written right there, followed by a few words that have nothing to do with the list of offenses:

He's so cute. I want to kiss him.

Ning Ye is baffled. "Pei Ci, what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Pei Ci glances at Ning Ye, whose ears have gone red. "Nothing. It means I'm secretly in love with you."

Ning Ye grits his teeth. "Is that how you secretly love someone?"

"You're right." Pei Ci ponders this, then says mildly, "So from now on, I'm openly in love with you."

Ning Ye tosses the notebook back like it's burning hot. "..."

Damn, this guy has to be possessed!
