On my eighteenth birthday, I received one piece of good news and one piece of bad news.
The good news was that I’d found my long-lost family, with whom I had absolutely no familial affection!
The bad news was that my family member was the person who killed my father!
I met him with no ulterior motives whatsoever, but the look in his eyes told me he didn’t trust me. He had clearly mistaken me for someone like my dad.
Worse still, that same day, I received a huge inheritance package from a parallel universe.
I inherited the estate and identity of my parallel-universe self at absolutely no cost, but I got the feeling that this invincible man was looking at me even more sternly now!
How can I explain to him that I really am not a bad person?
P.S. This is a story about inheriting an estate, discovering you’ve been set up, and refusing to turn your frustration inward, instead taking it out on everyone else. Written while losing my mind.
