I Want

When Zhou Qun, after fourteen years of brotherhood and three years of secretly loving his friend, carefully searched for clues in the details and observed how his best friend treated him, the way he spoke and acted, he finally teased a faint thread called "love" from their rope-like bond. His heart leaped with joy.

Because he had loved him for a long time, too.

Zhou Qun had been adored by everyone since childhood, but the only person he had ever fallen for was his best friend, Wen Yan.

The afternoon sun was gentle, neither harsh nor restless. A soft breeze brushed the pale green curtain resting beside the window. The two boys sat shoulder to shoulder, still as a painting. One looked sleepy, resting his head on the desk with his eyes closed, enjoying a stolen moment of quiet. The other gazed deeply at him, his tender eyes filled with that single figure. The corners of his mouth lifted as he gently touched the boy's perfect black hair. The flowers were far away, yet their faint fragrance drifted across a thousand miles.

It stirred the love the boy had buried deep inside, restrained and suppressed. It also stirred that sweltering, restless summer.

Lost in the moment, he didn't see the other boy's trembling eyelashes. He simply made a shushing gesture to a classmate passing by.
