Was I Fined?

I work night shifts a lot, and I think getting “fined” is unavoidable.

On the middle shift, since nothing is likely to happen, I start writing novel outlines after 9 p.m. when things quiet down. I sit facing the door and stand up as soon as someone comes in...

But the night shift? I can barely stay awake. Closing my eyes is perfectly normal... If one of the head nurses comes by to do rounds during the night shift, she'll probably catch me...
