Encountering the Light

A college campus story (I'm still writing, just very slowly. I've been so busy with real life! I've already finished the outline and detailed plan for this story! I'll keep writing whenever I have time, just a little slowly! Thank you all for reading, sob sob sob.)

It's not exactly a typical second-chance romance. At its heart, it's still sweet. It's a one-sided story of saving each other.

A steady, mature senior who studies fashion design and is the uke

Chen Tang has lived this way for 21 years.

He studies hard, works diligently, and takes life one day at a time.

Then one day, a boy carrying light suddenly enters his dim life.

Chen Tang borrows his light for a little while, but he knows the boy is only walking alongside him for a time. The light in his hands could never shine on Chen Tang forever.

He shouldn't have dared to wish for a ray of light.

But as he walks along, looking at the messages Song Nan sent him, his heart still flutters again and again.

[Song Nan: Why aren't you here yet? The projector says it really wants to see you.]

[Song Nan: The camera says it really wants to see you, too.]

"Song Nan really wants to see you, too."

One day later, Song Nan gets a call from Chen Tang. His voice is low and hoarse, and his feelings are impossible to make out.

He says, "Let's break up."

The next time they meet, Song Nan refuses to be outdone. He says, "What, can't stand seeing your ex doing well?"

Chen Tang always thought that he and Song Nan had fallen in love over time, that it took everything they went through together for them to end up together. But in the end, he discovers that isn't true. It was all part of a long-laid plan. It was love at first sight.

One-on-one romance, happy ending. The relationship isn't actually angsty, and they aren't apart for long. There are no disposable characters, and they don't break up because of a misunderstanding. Please don't hate either of them; hate me instead ().

All the places are made up by the author. The setting is entirely fictional!

I've never studied photography, so I learned the technical details as I went. Please forgive any major mistakes, and let me know if you spot any; I'll fix them!

My writing is terrible, and I'm terrible too. Please forgive me if it's not well written!
