Sorry for Stirring Up Trouble (Reborn)

Once, someone told me of a place where women didn't have to be men's dependents. They could live with dignity, study as equals and in freedom, choose their own professions, take the same examinations as men, and earn a salary through their own intelligence.

She told me the imperial family knew no love, and warned me not to believe the Second Prince's vows of eternal devotion. When I went off to war, she told me that once I held military power, the emperor's blade would be at my throat.

She didn't try to stop me. She simply told me the consequences, as a friend.

Later, I became a marshal. On the border, I heard that the Second Prince had ascended the throne and married both an empress and a consort.

Only after returning to the capital did I learn that she had ultimately lost her battle against this cruel world and gone mad.

Later still, her prediction came true, and I took a trip to the Yellow Springs.

I never imagined I could live again, only to learn that she had died of illness long ago.

I thought I was alone in this life, but I hadn't expected my friend from my previous life, the Prince of Huainan, to have feelings for me.

Well, the imperial family knows no love. I learned that over a lifetime, and I won't fall for it again in this one.

Later, he stayed by my side through countless hardships, helped me set off a storm that shook the world, and even did my makeup and hair when laziness took hold of me. He supported every decision I made, and would never regret it, even if it meant risking his life again and again.

Well, I take it all back.

The imperial family knows no love, but one particular person is an exception. I hope my friend can return to the place she came from. If she could see what I've done, would she be happy that I've changed this cruel world, even just a little?
