An Older Brother Can Never Become a Husband

The year after my parents divorced,

my father married a beautiful new wife.

Having been influenced by Cinderella, Snow White, and a host of other fairy tales, I was extremely wary of my stepmother. Naturally, I also hated the boy she brought with her:

pretty and taciturn, pale and frail, my age, and my stepbrother in name only.

In the spirit of striking first,

I started exploiting my stepbrother, my little slave, the servant I could order around best.

He didn't want to, of course, but I had plenty of ways and strength to make him behave.

I started thinking this life wasn't so bad.

Too bad

that they got divorced too.

Five years later,

my father no longer wanted to raise me. He thought that as long as a menace like me was around, he would never have a happy family again.

I packed my bags and was sent to live with my mother.

No, I mean at the house of the man my mother was dating.

This time, living under someone else's roof, I resolved to be a sensible daughter and not make things difficult for my mother.

But when the door opened, the same sour face from my memories appeared. He was taller now and looked healthier, but I recognized him at a glance.

This time,

I put on a sweet smile and acted timid. "Hello, big brother."

When our father scolded him for bullying his new little sister, he looked so furious he seemed ready to eat me alive.

Years later,

when he pinned me against the wall and bit my lips hard, his eyes were just as savage, as if he were about to eat me alive.

#She's actually his old little sister, not a new one#

#What a tangled fate. It's wonderful#

#Why are we siblings again, even after switching families?#

#So our parents are playing musical partners... That's still no reason for us to get married, right?#
