(This will be my next novel. When I start updating, I will revise the blurb, title, premise, and even some of the setting, so please think carefully before bookmarking.)
Lin Nian is an ordinary college student who lands a job as secretary to the president of the Pei Group after surviving a brutal competition. He starts at twenty, works diligently for six years, and rises to the rank of first-level secretary.
He wears many hats:
During work hours, he is the Pei Group president's meticulous chief secretary;
After work, he is a household servant at the Pei residence;
At night, he is Mr. Pei's bed warmer.
The work of a bed warmer goes beyond what his employment contract stipulates.
The first time he performed his duties, as the president unbuttoned his clothes, he raised a hand to stop him. But in that same moment, he closed his eyes and calmly calculated that keeping his job mattered more, so he obediently played the temporary stand-in. The next day, he acted as if nothing had happened.
The very next day, his salary went up. Everything was clearly priced, with no one getting cheated.
When he received his pay slip, he gave a cold little smile, knowing he had found yet another way to make money.
Isn't it better not to bring it up? Compared to all those stars, big and small, waiting eagerly to be summoned, at least he has a steady stream of work.
You should know when you have enough.

Lin Nian has been named outstanding employee for six years running.
After six years, when it is time to renew his contract for the third time, Lin Nian looks at the lifetime contract everyone dreams of and shakes his head. "I don't want to renew. Let's end things here, Mr. Pei."
Then he simply quits, setting off to build his own career and enjoy life.
When Mr. Pei receives the resignation letter, he says with absolute certainty, "Tell him that once he leaves, he can forget about coming back."
He never expected Lin Nian to really leave for good.
And so begins Mr. Pei's long journey to win his wife back.
