Lin Xiyang has always been the well-behaved girl in her family, yet she falls for a delinquent she would never normally cross paths with, a social outcast who got suspended for fighting and smoking.
On the evening of the first day of her second year of high school, right after evening study, Lin Xiyang wants to buy some oden at the convenience store across the street.
A young man is leaning against the wall outside, a cigarette between his fingers. The smell of tobacco bothers Lin Xiyang, but she has to admit he's the most handsome boy she's seen in her sixteen years.
"Um, smoking isn't allowed here." The words "Can I have your WeChat?" are on the tip of her tongue, but something else comes out instead.
The boy doesn't give Lin Xiyang so much as a glance. He turns and heads into the alley.
On New Year's Eve, Lin Xiyang works up the courage to say:
"Jiang Sheng, I like you. I know my feelings are childish, but..."
He cuts her off before she can finish.
"You really mean it, right?"
"Fine. I'll go out with you."
"As your boyfriend, I look forward to getting along with you."
It seems he saw it coming all along.
