The Plant God Doesn't Want to Fall in Love [Greek Mythology]

Adonis was a special kind of god.

He was beautiful and fragile. Mortal blood flowed through his veins, yet he was born a god.

He was born from sin and desperate love, the result of a prank by the goddess of love and beauty.

To avoid becoming a plaything of the chief god, Adonis set himself three goals:

1. Become the chief god, the King of the Gods;

2. Establish laws to restrain the gods;

3. Renounce love and desire.

He succeeded at the first two, but failed spectacularly at the third.

He dodged little Eros's golden arrow, rejected the Queen of the Underworld's confession, and broke the King of the Gods' grasping hand, but was drawn into the arms of a black-haired, violet-eyed god.

The Lord of Chaos cupped his one and only treasure in the hands that had created the world.

After creating the world, the oldest and most revered god was driven from the world he had made, and could only send out a sliver of his soul to wander the mortal realm.

He heard mortals praise his ridiculous descendants. He saw countless exquisite temples rise across the land, but not one belonged to him.

Wonderful.

The petty god smiled. Let it all be destroyed.

Then he heard a voice:

"Why don't we worship Lord Chaos?"

The young god spoke earnestly. "Without Lord Chaos, none of us would exist."

Chaos changed his mind.
