Qiao Kingdom, Xi Province, Aoshang City, Cuihuang Palace
This is the story of Zhuo Zhao, the young Qilin of Han who descended the mountain at nineteen to seek her king, and Li Shunyao, the king of Han, who was born a commoner.
Li Shunyao sat beside the ailing Qilin of Han. Holding back her tears and guilt, she patted his hands for the last time and sang softly: "Play to your heart's content, so you will have no regrets. Laugh and frolic, so you will have no regrets. Listen to the children at play, and perhaps this body, too, will be moved..."
"I leave the Kingdom of Qiao in your hands."
Such were the last words left by the previous king. The monarch who had brought the Kingdom of Qiao more than 180 years of peace abdicated when the first signs of decline appeared. Yet she could not be buried in the royal tomb prepared by her officials, nor in the land she loved most.
In the 182nd year of her reign, in midsummer, during the seventh month, the Chief Minister, the Qilin of Han, lost the Way.
The King of Han, Li Sutong, courtesy name Shunyao, traveled to Mount Peng and was granted permission to abdicate.
Later that month, she died in Qinghai. In accordance with her final wishes, she was not given a grand funeral, but was buried with her robes and crown at Gaoquan Mausoleum. She had ruled for 182 years.
The officials took the words "You have cultivated virtue and achieved great merit" as their precedent and bestowed upon the late king the posthumous title of King Mao.
The Plain History of Qiao
I watched The Twelve Kingdoms again and was deeply moved, so I wrote this fanfiction.
I thought my old version was awful and deleted it long ago. My thoughts change with time, so I decided to write it again.
The hardest thing is figuring out how to tell a story set in their society when my worldview is so different from theirs.
Since the heroine has a hint of romance, I changed the category because it didn't fit under no-CP. But there won't be much romance, since it isn't the main plot.
No fixed update schedule or word count. I'll write as I go and do whatever I like.
Theme: The people's wish is simply to have enough to eat and warm clothes. A ruler can fulfill their wish.
It's been 22 years, and there's still new food for The Twelve Kingdoms! So touching
The most important thing is to be able to keep coming back and write. You can revise things like writing style later. Don't be too perfectionist and demand to do your best the first time. That will become a hindrance to your creation.
After seeing the changes, you can actually write something else. If you don't write, it would be a waste of literary talent (to your fingers). I'm going to freeze to death in the cold circle.
When I saw the name of the protagonist, I thought that this name is really big. I wonder if the protagonist can hold it down.
One correction, according to Le Jun's description in "Wind of Ten Thousand Miles, Sky of Dawn", although the winter in Qiao Country is warm, "how can you sleep outside in winter? There may be no problem in the southern part of Zuo Country." I didn't notice this when I wrote it, but I don't want to revise it anymore. The online review of this chapter is too high, so I'll put it below orz
I feel that there are a lot of mistakes. I haven't updated the chapter recently, but revised the old chapter. Now I have carefully read the original text of the Twelve Kingdoms again, and I found that I was wrong in many places, so I came here to correct it_(:з∠)_
Super pretty!!! Come on, author wife!
Now it seems that people are starting to write about the Twelve Kingdoms again. Has the author ever written a novel in which the protagonist is Qilin?
I feel like writing it in the third person would be better.
If the family property is not inherited, is it difficult to hand it over to the state?
