I Became a Virtuous Wife and Took Shanghai by Storm

After the versatile entertainer Wang Zhi died unexpectedly, she was reborn as Wang Guixiang, a traditional woman from an earlier era. At just fourteen, the original owner had married the eldest son of a landlord family in the neighboring village. Less than six months after the wedding, her husband went abroad to study.

Five years later, he returned from his studies, looked down on the original owner for being unsophisticated, uneducated, and lacking in romance, and wanted to divorce her.

The original owner neither made a fuss nor argued. She hid alone in her room and cried silently all night. The next day, she jumped into a river and killed herself.

And so Wang Zhi took over her body.

The day after she took over.

The eldest son looked at Wang Zhi with an air of superiority and a look of disdain. "I've already discussed this with my mother. I can give you a child, and I won't divorce you. From now on, you'll stay with the Yu family. Stop trying to kill yourself and ruining my reputation."

Wang Zhi: "???"

The eldest son took a sip of tea. "Take off your clothes yourself. I'll be home for the next six months. I won't leave until you're pregnant."

Wang Zhi: "???" What kind of mad dog is this?!

After recovering her health, Wang Zhi left the landlord's household of her own accord.

Ha! To hell with being a traditional, virtuous, good woman. And he thinks he's doing her a favor by giving her a child? He can take that and shove it!

She grabbed her silver dollars, boarded a little train, and headed straight for Shanghai.

In the glittering foreign concessions, the city lights came on at dusk. The sweet Wu dialect filled the air, and love songs began to play.

Half a year later, gardenias were blooming all across Shanghai.

Countless young masters and rich gentlemen fought over her every day. They say even the axe-wielding gang boss had broken several axes.
