Apocalypse's First Player [Apocalypse]

When the apocalypse began, Xi Pandao was launching a virtual reality game. A bug exploit accidentally turned it into a real-life game system.

Xi Pandao opened her eyes to find red health bars floating above the zombies filling the streets. Her skill bar was all there, along with a minimap.

On the road to safety, she ran into a mutated zombie. The monster's shadow blotted out the sky, while screams and sobs echoed everywhere.

The survivors in the monster's sights were utterly desperate. They tried to run, but it was already too late.

Xi Pandao charged in the opposite direction, casually picking up a passerby who had fallen and tossing them out of harm's way.

"Can... can we fight that thing?" The desperate survivors could only tremble and await death. "It's impossible! We're all going to die..."

Of course they could. Looking at the monster's stacked health bars and thinking of the experience points she'd earn, Xi Pandao grinned.

"If it has a health bar, what's there that you can't fight?"

In the apocalypse, everyone knew the name Xi Pandao.

Some called her a lunatic, but more called her a savior.

After defeating yet another deadly threat, Xi Pandao and her companions emerged from the battlefield, drenched in blood.

A reporter rushed up to her, visibly excited. "Oh my God! Please, how are you able to fight like that?!"

Xi Pandao smiled. "Hello. Ever heard of berserk mode?"

One day, Xi Pandao met a foolish little knight named Gu Baiyang.

The little knight was strange. Driven by some inexplicable sense of justice, she protected lots of people and was always trying to stop Xi Pandao from hurting herself and stacking her attack by deliberately losing health.

At first, neither of them could stand the other.

Later, Gu Baiyang said, "I know. You're strong. You can do anything."

"But... I, I want to protect you too..."

She gently took Xi Pandao's hand. "Will you let me?"
