Childhood Friend, Don't Think You Can Escape

There are many kinds of Zerg, each with different abilities. Take the rare parasitic kind: they possess overwhelming strength, yet are constantly on the verge of unemployment.

Parasitic females in particular are selfish by nature, brutal and ruthless, and prone to going berserk and losing control. Major companies have joined forces to boycott them and put them on a blacklist.

Zhong Ren was no exception. Fortunately, she had an upright childhood friend by her side, which kept her from going berserk all the time. Still, she took the principle of "love yourself before loving others" to the extreme.

Thanks to her outstanding abilities and her obedience to the rules most of the time, she managed to land a job at the Rensheng Management Group. Her main duties: finding cats, dogs, and mistresses, with food deliveries on the side. Her secondary job: exploring dangerous areas as part of the official suicide squad.

However, the one who had drawn a royal flush from the start met with disaster during a mission.

Her childhood friend saved her by opening a mental link between them. But she couldn't control her desires and had sex with him, then unknowingly laid her eggs inside him.

When she belatedly realized she had fallen for him, she rushed to confess, only to discover that her childhood friend had already given up on life and was raising two strange children on his own.

Seeing him hobble away in a panic, leaning on a cane, made her heart ache. She swore she would win him over!

And so she launched an all-out campaign of romantic gestures.

She covered the venue with thousands of roses, made a grand confession from a helicopter, went on a hot-air balloon ride with him, and gave him a diamond so dazzling it could blind him...

Well, every attempt ended in failure.

She panicked and went straight for the big guns.

As she lay in a hospital bed, the moment she heard her childhood friend confess his love, she sprang back to life, grabbed him, and pulled him onto the bed.

Seeing the look of shock on his face, she lifted the corners of her mouth and raised an eyebrow triumphantly. Pinning him down, she gave him a French kiss.

Sure enough, faking an injury is the most effective strategy.

PS: 1. This story has some original worldbuilding. After the heroine falls in love, she lays her eggs inside a male Zerg.

2. The heroine is not a virgin, but the hero is.

3. The heroine is obsessive and prone to going berserk, with an intense possessive streak toward the hero. The hero is her natural calming agent.
