A Nie Huaisang diary-perspective story about the lectures? His schemes after his elder brother's death? Wei Wuxian's revenge after being reborn?
Since this is told from Nie Huaisang's perspective and there are many gaps after Wei Wuxian's death, this story may contain a lot of personal interpretation. Please keep that in mind.
Nie Huaisang is characterized as clever and perceptive from a young age. He really did love to play as a child, though. He wasn't deliberately pretending to be stupid; he simply had his elder brother to protect him and couldn't be bothered to think too much. It was only after his brother died that he began to hide his abilities and plot ahead. This is just my personal preference, so I may be a bit biased in favor of Nie Huaisang!
?? The timeline is during the lectures, before his fight with Jin Zixuan. There may be some Nie Huaisang favoritism, and the relationship between Nie Huaisang and Wei Wuxian is friendship-focused.
?? Wen Ruohan is portrayed sympathetically. He shifts the blame onto his two sons because he doesn't want the Sunshot Campaign. Those brave enough to go to the battlefield will die in droves, while cowards will survive and take advantage of the situation. Better not to fight at all, and let Wen Ruohan reform the Wen Clan.
??? I don't really like the Jiang Clan, so I may portray them unfavorably or push them to the sidelines later. Still, I want to make this clear:
The Jiang Clan is portrayed unfavorably???? Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng become estranged.
I have no particular feelings about Jin Guangyao or Xue Yang. I won't vilify or whitewash them.
?? There may be a few original character details and some unavoidable OOC.
