[Screenshotted and saved, to be polished later]
Tang Qiqiu has always been emotionally slow, and has never been good at developing deep feelings for other people. Getting him to fall for someone is next to impossible.
That's why everyone around him agrees that he's the aloof beauty who's hardest to win over.
It's not that you can't reach him, it's that you can't bring him down. He never makes himself miserable just to accommodate someone else.
To him, a boyfriend is just a bit of seasoning in life. If he doesn't like the flavor, he switches.
During a relationship, his partner has to accommodate him in everything, can't control him or get jealous, and must also deal with Tang Qiqiu's ever-expiring interest.
Even so, his admirers never stop coming.
His friends sum up his romantic history like this: no matter how hard you pursue him, you can never truly win him over.
Everyone was stunned when Tang Qiqiu announced one day that he was dating his childhood friend Cheng Zhou, then went on to break the three-month rule.
Everyone: Damn, nice. Is this a white-moonlight story?
Later, Cheng Zhou suddenly cut off contact, and what happened next shocked everyone even more.
Tang Qiqiu accepted a confession from Lu Zhi, an athlete at the sports college next door. Lu Zhi and Cheng Zhou didn't look alike, exactly, but, by sheer coincidence, their eyes were somewhat similar.
Everyone: Oh wow, spicy. Is this a substitute story?
As one of the people being discussed, Tang Qiqiu thinks every day: It's so nice having someone take care of me. Other than that, he has absolutely no idea he's looking for a replacement.
He doesn't miss his white moonlight, nor does he try to make the substitute gradually look more like him.
One afternoon,
Lu Zhi's inner calm was shattered by a framed photograph. Tang Qiqiu was in it, and the other person was looking at him with affection in his eyes.
Those similar eyes said everything.
From the top's perspective:
Tang Qiqiu notices that his new boyfriend, Lu Zhi, is getting stranger and stranger.
What's strange is that he's starting to look more and more like... his childhood friend Cheng Zhou, who's gone missing. It's as if Cheng Zhou had somehow appeared beside him again.
So Tang Qiqiu promptly breaks up with him.
Now that he's single again, Tang Qiqiu finds himself in what he considers a rather unpleasant situation.
Inside, Lu Zhi's eyes are red, and his voice is hoarse. "I'll learn to be like him. Please, don't push me away."
Outside the door, Cheng Zhou gives a bitter smile. "Qiuqiu, I'm back. Can you stop settling for a substitute now?"
Tang Qiqiu: ... (silent)
Everyone: Ooh, nice. A love triangle showdown!
Reader's Guide:
1. I wrote this blurb on a whim. I'll revise it later.
2. Basically, the white moonlight knows the top is looking for a substitute and doesn't mind, because he thinks his place as the official partner is secure. The substitute resents it once he finds out, but still learns to imitate the white moonlight while feeling jealous, just so the top might like him. In the end, the substitute gets dumped, and the white moonlight comes back.
3. I haven't decided who ends up with whom.
4. No cheating during the relationship.
5. The top is genuinely a scumbag. I promise he'll be happy and free in this story; the bottom can fend for himself. By clicking in, you've accepted that.
