My new novel, The Wrong Marriage, is currently updating. A sweet, everyday story of love after marriage. Check it out in my profile!

Cui Nanzhi accompanied her aunt into the palace for a banquet. Everyone already assumed she would become the Crown Prince's future consort.
People praised her and the Crown Prince as a perfect match, a talented man and a beautiful woman.
She gave a slight nod in acknowledgment, doing her best to ignore the emperor's scorching gaze.
No one knew how shamelessly he had lost control in the forbidden palace gardens just moments earlier, cornering her step by step.
When she returned home, an imperial decree arrived from the palace, announcing her marriage.
Her future husband was not the Crown Prince, but the Son of Heaven himself.
Content warnings
* Details some readers may mind: The leads have no children, there is no child-rearing bonus chapter, and the novel contains no court intrigue.
1. A story about an old flame reigniting, melodramatic yet sweet, with a 12-year age gap. One-on-one romance, both leads have no prior sexual experience.
2. The leads are not related by blood. The heroine calls the emperor "Uncle" because she follows the second male lead's example. There is no questionable relationship or ethical boundary-crossing.
3. The Crown Prince was adopted into the imperial family and is not the male lead's biological son.
4. The dynasty is fictional, with many original worldbuilding details.

Here are some upcoming novels from my profile. If you're interested, please add them to your reading list!
1. Bao Shu: A melodramatic, bittersweet pursuit of a wife
Xie Zheng disliked having people near him. In his vast estate, only Bao Shu could persuade him to do anything.
Bao Shu was a young girl he had picked up on the street. She had been crying so pitifully that the ironhearted second young master of the Xie family did a good deed for his sick mother: he gave her the money to sell herself to pay for her father's burial.
Bao Shu was grateful to him. Xie Zheng disliked how popular she was and forbade her from smiling at others, so she spoke less and kept her distance from outsiders.
Later, when Bao Shu came of age for marriage, she fell for someone. He knew how to cheer her up and brought her fashionable little gifts. Bao Shu thought he was a good man, so she accepted his proposal.
She thought she could live a quiet, ordinary life, but Xie Zheng ruined the marriage and forced her to become his concubine.
Bao Shu, who had always meekly gone along with everything, resisted him for the first time.
2. The Little Tagalong I Picked Up Ascended the Throne: A gloomy man and a ray of sunshine
Zhaozhao had a secret: she had picked up a mute boy.
The little mute was often bullied. Unable to stand by, Zhaozhao asked the supervisor to let him eat and live with her.
She saved fabric and pastries to share with him, pleaded for him when the supervisor punished him, and was teased by the other girls for picking up a little tagalong.
Not long after, rebel forces stormed the capital and a great fire engulfed the city. The little mute vanished without a trace.
Among the ruins, Zhaozhao found only a familiar piece of clothing. Grieving for her friend, she built a tomb for his clothes.
·
When the new emperor ascended the throne, the Imperial Music Bureau was ordered to perform at the palace. After the performance, Zhaozhao was kept behind alone.
The supervisor coaxed her, intending to offer her to the new emperor. "You only need to slip the poison into his cup when he's not looking. If you succeed, you'll receive a hundred taels of gold and be freed from your status as a convict."
She had heard that the new emperor was cruel, and feared she would be left to rot in the wilderness within three days.
But the plan went surprisingly smoothly, and the emperor accepted her without hesitation, keeping her by his side.
Outsiders all said she was the emperor's most beloved concubine. Only Zhaozhao knew the bitter truth: the new emperor would not let her come within ten paces. Every day, all she did was play music or sing until her throat was about to give out!
On the other side of the beaded curtain, the new emperor was also pondering how to tell her the little mute was alive and well without revealing his own history of disguising himself as a woman.
·
Zhaozhao thought she would never complete her mission. Either she would offend the emperor and be executed, or learn too much and be silenced.
At the little mute's grave, she poured out her troubles, saying she wished he were still alive because she was so tired of facing everything alone.
A cool breeze brushed past. Zhaozhao looked up.
The little mute, who had already returned to the earth, was standing not far away, watching her silently.
After a scream, the emperor scooped up the young woman who had fainted from fright and wondered where exactly he had gone wrong.
