Blind Lord

Blurb:

Unlike her tall, strapping older brothers, Song Yinhe, the youngest daughter of General Song, is delicate and graceful, with a willowy figure.

When a sudden change of fortune befalls her family, Song Xunwei is betrothed to the frail, blind Fifth Prince, Lu Congxing, to bring him good fortune.

Her brothers are so furious they draw their knives and swords, ready to storm the wedding procession, while her proud father is moved to tears.

Song Xunwei wipes her tears, lowers her bridal veil, and climbs into the wedding sedan.

On their wedding night, Lu Congxing hears the timid young woman quietly sobbing. Knowing she feels wronged and does not want this marriage, he gently keeps her company and talks with her all night, never crossing a line.

Song Xunwei looks at his naturally handsome yet porcelain-cold face, then at his tall, slender frame that coughs every five steps. She thinks miserably, Lu Congxing can't do it.

Song Xunwei can be a widow, but she refuses to be a widow while her husband is still alive. She sends a letter asking her father and brothers to search everywhere for famous doctors to secure her happiness.

Soon, the prince's residence is packed with renowned physicians and practitioners from all over the martial world. Lu Congxing assumes his kindhearted princess is worried about his blindness and frail health. Laughing, he reassures her, "I have been blind for many years. There's no need to go to all this trouble."

The others exchange uneasy glances, then nervously bring over a dozen bowls of tonic and say softly, "Your Highness, Fifth Prince, this remedy is most effective for strengthening yang and replenishing qi..."

Lu Congxing's lips twitch.

...Is this what his innocent, delicate princess has in mind?

That night, the lights in the prince's residence burned until dawn.
