I Became a God After Taking Dazai to the Hospital

[Currently serializing: I Became a Monster and Started Studying for Grad School!]

Tian Shan Ya abandoned her fanfiction, and the very next day, her home inexplicably turned into a shelter for characters who had transmigrated out of illustrated stories. She even ended up sending a certain Dazai, who had a smile on his face but was covered in blood, to the hospital.

[System: You need to earn the characters' affection. Once you have enough, you can send them back to their original worlds.]

Tian Shan Ya waved the System away and carried on with her internship.

Earn their affection? This is the real world. Staying alive is the first priority!

Later...

A certain Dazai uses toilet paper as bandages every day.

The hat-wearing executive buys all kinds of impractical hats.

Every morning, she wakes up on time to the sound of a red-eyed figure sharpening a blade.

Every night, she has to watch out for Mika, who keeps eyeing the goldfish.

Tian Shanya can't take it anymore and dumps them all at the daycare where she's interning.

Now, whether they're Mafia big shots or assassins from another world, they have to line up with baby bottles and take care of the little ones.

Taro the Tiger: Grrr!

Besides the illustrated characters, Tian Ya realizes that some things have changed in her world, too.

For instance, she never knew Neighbor 1 had two dragons, or that two ghosts lived at Neighbor 2's house. And that little shrine she often passed, the one that looked like a toy, really did enshrine a calamity god.

Most unusual of all, she can even see all kinds of extraordinary "creatures."

Wow, has she gained superpowers?!!

But after crushing a teacup in one hand, she looks at the human babies nearby who need to be handled with care and realizes this might not be a good thing...

*

Dazai came to this world on a mission. If he can get a human girl to willingly sign a contract with him, he can die as planned and revive someone from his world to take his place.

At that moment, Tian Shanya, who met the requirements, stood by the river. The evening light wrapped around her hair like strands of golden thread, hazy and dreamlike.

She turned around. Though she looked worn out from the day, her smile was like the last bright gleam of the setting sun.

She said, "Dazai, welcome to the real world."

[Notes]

* Content warning: The author is a switch who doesn't stick to either side, not a dream girl.

* Illustrated character shelter (x)

Illustrated character retirement home (correct)

* Tian Shanya x Dazai

* The characters who transmigrate into the heroine's home are "illustrated characters" from the fictional world of this story. Other characters in the series, such as the neighbors, are real-world characters.

* The heroine is still a college student and is doing an internship.

* A lighthearted, healing slice-of-life story, all sweetness.

* Content warning: Lots of author-created settings! I've tried hard to keep the characters in character, but they might be OOC!

---Upcoming novels in the author's column---

1. The Tiger Boy Wants to Revive Dazai

Atsushi receives a birthday present from Dazai: a tiger cub with the same ability as Atsushi.

Dazai: "She's your child from now on. No need to thank me."

Atsushi: ?

Five years later, the cub is learning to write a narrative essay.

[One day, Uncle Dazai just dropped dead, and I was so happy for him. I knew Uncle Dazai had wanted to die for ages. Congratulations to him! I don't know why Dad and the other uncles and aunties were so worried.]

Kunikida, who's checking her homework, pulls Atsushi over. "What exactly did you tell the kid?"

Atsushi sweats. "I just explained what it means to go missing..."

On the first day Uncle Dazai drops dead, the cub is delighted and prepares a "grand" celebration for him.

One week after Uncle Dazai drops dead, the cub gets bored and fishes a glass marble out of her pocket, holding it up high.

"It's time to revive Uncle Dazai!"

*

[Moonlight winds past the green vines, clear tears fall into a warm heart.

In whose name is the bustle of the world defined? A god's eyes lie deep in the forest.]

Beep. Mystery countdown.

[Notes]

* Dazai is only missing, don't worry.

* Unless something unexpected happens, this will be one complete major story arc, and won't be very long.

* The blurb will be polished, and I'm still thinking about the title, but I probably won't change it.
