Flowers Near Tall Towers Break a Traveler's Heart [Sima Zhao X Liu Shan]

Flowers near the high tower grieve the traveler's heart; amid trouble across the land, I climb here.

The spring colors of the Jin River fill heaven and earth; clouds drift over Mount Yulei, changing from age to age.

The court in the north remains unchanged; may the western mountain bandits never invade.

Pity the former ruler still worshiped at his temple; at dusk, I idly sing the Ballad of Liangfu.

Du Fu

Liu Shan transmigrates into the body of Liu Shan, the ruler of Shu, and sets out to save his kingdom. Later, he realizes Sima Zhao is too formidable, and Shu is impossible to save, so he begins to flee. But while fleeing, he realizes that bearing the title of Shu's king makes escape impossible: wherever he goes, he runs into Sima Zhao. So he simply gives up. I'm done running! Do whatever you want!

He thinks Sima Zhao will kill him, but instead, Sima Zhao grants him the title of Duke of Anle. Compared to other rulers who lost their kingdoms throughout history, he really has it pretty good... Until one day, Sima Zhao takes his hand and leads him back to Shu's former lands to admire the flowers from a tower. Wait, why does this feel so different?

The ruthless and vicious enemy general and ruler seme x the defeated king uke who has given up. One-on-one, happy ending.
