[Dream of the Red Chamber] The Beauty Who Brings Ruin

Just jotting down an idea I'll probably never write...

To the north, barbarians threaten us; to the south, rebels rise. Heaven grants no favorable time, and the land yields nothing. Heaven and earth are unkind, leaving us on the brink of life and death.

When the nest is destroyed, no egg can remain intact. Though we are women, we dare not keep idling in our chambers. Even with our meager talents and shallow learning, we can at least sew battle robes. We only hope to do our part.

I wish to follow the example of King Xuan of Qi and make you my empress.

If Your Majesty truly wishes to follow King Xuan of Qi's example and appoint talent without regard to convention, then let me be the first. I humbly ask Your Majesty to place me in the court, as your horse's bone.

May Daiyu become a general, and Huangyu a minister.
