For a long time, Sarah lived and grew up just as everyone expected. But she knew that beauty alone was not enough. They compared her to a lily of the valley because it was pure and petite, harmless, and liable to fall over at the slightest breeze.
She hated being seen that way, but until she had grown thorns, she would never reveal who she really was.
As she kept up her disguise day after day, Sarah felt she was truly becoming the lily of the valley they all called her. But just as she was about to accept her fate, a devil from the shadowy world brought her what she wanted.

No matter who did the tempting at first, the ending always points toward the release of evil.
The girl who mastered true knowledge became a witch in pursuit of truth; her unrestrained search turned into a fervor that obscured the truth; love and hatred tangled together until they could no longer be separated; and memories that had endured since time immemorial slowly crept over with moss.
