Nobody notices the hand holding her test tube trembling ever so slightly.

The mermaid's gorgeous face looks even more dazzling in the bright midday sun. Lin Xue stealthily swallows, but the mermaid notices.

The mermaid smiles lazily. "You saw me, right? You have to take responsibility for me, or humanity will meet its end."

Lin Xue: "..." Are you joking? Who are you trying to fool in broad daylight!

The mermaid slaps the water's surface, remembering the human she tricked into coming ashore to cook for her. Her smile grows all the more alluring.

The next day, the mermaid swims to the agreed-upon reef and flicks her tail. At last, the human arrives with egg fried rice. Delicious.

The mermaid, eyes red, wolfs down the rice and says, "Don't leave me."

Lin Xue: "..." Mermaids sure know how to act cute.

One day, a tourist checks in at a small restaurant by the beach and sees its beautiful owner sitting in a wheelchair, acting coy with the woman beside her. "I want meat."

Though the woman remains expressionless, her ears have already turned red. She quietly pulls an apron from her pocket and says in a tiny voice, "I-I'll cook it right away."

The tourists watch the scene and declare: "That's so sweet!"
