The story takes place in a village called Luwan in the plains of eastern Henan. Sun Jiashu is a child with a severe stutter. His father, Sun Fulai, is disappointed and angry with him. One day his father gave him a severe beating, and miraculously he could speak smoothly. By chance, he learned to play guitar from a beekeeper, fell in love with singing, and dreamed of becoming a folk singer when he grew up.
One night, Sun Jiashu discovered that his father was having a tryst with Zheng Min. He reported it to his mother, which caused the relationship between his parents to break up and his relationship with his father to fall to a freezing point. After his father's winery closed down, he tried several times, but all ended in failure, so he had no choice but to return to his old business. As time goes by, the gap between Sun Jiashu and his father becomes thicker and thicker. He still loves singing and grows up with dreams.
