Blurb:
Su He struggled to survive through ten years of the apocalypse. Before she died, she prayed that in her next life she could have plenty to eat and wear, lie flat for the rest of her life, and preferably have a little gossip now and then to pass the time.
Who knew she'd open her eyes in the 1970s, right in the middle of a love triangle?
Enjoying the drama is all well and good, but only if she isn't the heroine!
On top of that, she discovers that supplies are scarce in this era, leaving people hungry but not quite starving to death.
This is completely at odds with her dream. Driven by hunger, Su He gives in.
The wheat painstakingly planted by the production brigade isn't enough for everyone to eat their fill once it's harvested.
Su He: ...This won't do. She loves buns, dumplings, and noodles most of all.
She brings out her wood-based ability. Give everything a huge dose of fertilizer! Boost the yield like crazy!
She discovers a vast stretch of saline-alkali land by the sea, where nothing can be grown.
Su He: ...It breaks my heart. What a complete waste!
She brings out her wood-based ability again. Soybeans, peanuts, potatoes, I want all of you to thrive! Go earn foreign currency!
The deserts of the Northwest stretch as far as the eye can see. If I filled them with fruit, wouldn't I have all the fruit I could want?
With food to eat and fruit juice to drink, this lie-flat life would be so wonderful!
Su He: ...Huh!?
Something seems off. Wasn't I supposed to lie flat? How did I end up working so hard?
Years later, everyone suddenly realizes that the food they eat is connected, to a greater or lesser extent, to Su He. Overseas buyers are even snapping up her products at high prices, earning her sack after sack of foreign currency.
The people call her: "A truly deserving recipient of the Republic Medal."
"A light to the world!"
"One of the greatest scientists in the world!"

Pei Zheng rose to regimental commander in five years, becoming a legend in the North China Military Region. Girls lined up every day to see him, nearly wearing down the doorstep.
Any woman who married him could skip the side dishes at dinner and still swallow two bowls of rice just looking at his face.
The aunties in the residential compound were eager to set him up with their relatives, all hoping to bring this golden boy home. The women soldiers in the art troupe hinted at their interest, each hoping to be the first to win him over. Nurses at the military hospital fought for the chance to bandage him.
But he rejected everyone, leaving the residential compound in turmoil. In the end, his superiors couldn't take it anymore and ordered him to settle his personal affairs soon, or they'd stop all his work.
Pei Zheng: ...
A little scene:
The rejected wives were so angry they snapped, "With standards that high, are you trying to marry a celestial maiden?"
Later, Pei Zheng brought Su He to the military base. Two rows of people were seated at the entrance.
The wives: ...We lost, we lost. She's even prettier than a celestial maiden, and he really did marry one.
Reader's notes:
1. This is entirely fictional, with plenty of invented details.
2. The golden finger is ridiculously powerful. Some logic is sacrificed for the sake of fun.
Theme: Cherish food
I go, one thing takes so long. Speechless
It's beautiful, but as time goes by, it's becoming less and less popular.
