[Three months after finishing the story, I looked back and dissected it. The later plot was influenced by the emotional storms I was going through at the time, so some parts may feel a little off. Their relationship is rather niche and twisted. I could probably write it better now, but this ending reflects the author's personality at different stages, and quite a few readers like it, so I won't revise the story. Making peace with the world they share.]
[Same warning as above: don't subscribe to the whole story upfront. Buy chapters as you go, and stop in time if you don't like it. Thank you.]
● The main story is complete, and the bonus chapters are up.
● Childhood friends to lovers / my version of a groveling pursuit / happy ending. Neither is a pushover.
● The sequel, My Beautiful Wife Went Mad After I Died, is open for follows. Please add it to your reading list~
“Passion burns you as well as the people around you.”
1.
Wen Xia had a childhood friend named Li Zhuoyan.
They were classmates from elementary school through high school. Wen Xia was a few months older than Li Zhuoyan and always looked after the pretty, spoiled, willful girl.
In their senior year of high school, Wen Xia could no longer suppress her feelings and confessed to Li Zhuoyan.
Li Zhuoyan, who was always clinging to her and acting spoiled, suddenly pulled her hand away and turned cold.
“Xiaxia, don't do this. I don't like women. I don't want us to end up unable to even be friends.”
Wen Xia had no choice but to hide her feelings and return to being a friend. “Okay.”
A week later, Li Zhuoyan came to find Wen Xia, beaming with excitement. “Xiaxia, what do you think of that guy from the class next door? He confessed to me! I'm wondering if I should take him as my boyfriend.”
Wen Xia, who was only a friend, fell silent for a moment. “If you like him, that's what matters.”
Years passed. Li Zhuoyan's boyfriends came and went, while Wen Xia remained by her side as a friend.
She protected her and soothed all her negative emotions.
Then one day, Li Zhuoyan came to Wen Xia again. “Xiaxia, he proposed to me. Do you think I should say yes?”
The name of that “he” had changed several times over. Wen Xia suddenly thought of that summer in senior year, as scorching and stifling as today.
Wen Xia suddenly smiled. “Really? Congratulations.”
From that day on, Wen Xia, who had been by Li Zhuoyan's side for over twenty years, disappeared from her life for good.
2.
Li Zhuoyan's “Xiaxia” was gone!
She fled her engagement banquet, ignoring the ugly looks from the guests and elders. She searched from the bustling metropolis all the way to the hometown she feared and had run away from.
After waiting alone for several days near Xiaxia's home, Li Zhuoyan finally caught Wen Xia returning from a break.
She explained herself. She regretted everything and knew she was wrong. She humbled herself and begged. She wanted them to go back to how they used to be, even better than before. She knew how it had always been: Xiaxia would put up with her, forgive her, and be so, so good to her.
But Wen Xia...
“Really?”
“It's strange. Why should I have to accept your apology just because you've apologized? It doesn't work like that.”
“I don't think we're friends anymore. If maintaining this so-called friendship makes both of us miserable, then let's stop.”
“Li Zhuoyan, don't come looking for me again.”
3.
Later, Li Zhuoyan clung to Wen Xia for a long, long time, until it seemed as though their roles had been reversed.
Wen Xia grew healthier and more cheerful.
Li Zhuoyan, meanwhile, grew thin and pitiful. Oh, and I heard she might be ill.
She had broken.
As if... she were mentally ill.
In a world without Wen Xia, she was like a fish out of water: unable to move forward, unable to breathe.
She would die.

*Cover character authorized by Tiny Lihua, non-exclusive. Many thanks~
*This isn't the kind of story where someone is on the verge of dying all the time... Anyway, it's my version of a groveling pursuit.
*Content warning: They are each other's firsts, but read with caution if you prefer completely chaste characters. One of them often dates men, but there is no intimate contact.
(The following contains major spoilers!!!!)
*They have always loved each other. The boyfriends are a mutually beneficial arrangement, not real relationships. Each has only ever loved one person.
Blurb for My Beautiful Wife Went Mad After I Died, the upcoming story~:
1.
Lin Yuwei considers herself utterly ordinary. She's also a lesbian, and in a world where heterosexuality remains the norm, she's already decided she'll just muddle through life like this.
Then, one day, same-sex marriage is legalized, and a relative comes to make an introduction:
“Yuwei, I know about your orientation. So... would you like a wife?”
Lin Yuwei went to meet her.
She had expected to muddle through life with someone ordinary, but the other woman was beautiful, alluring, young, and the CEO of a publicly listed company.
Her eyes naturally tilted upward, seeming cold when she looked at people. Look again, and they seemed to brim with affection.
Lin Yuwei fell in love at first sight.
When the other woman said, “We can get married,” Lin Yuwei felt as if the whole world had opened up. It was like winning a lottery worth tens of millions! Wait, no, even winning the lottery probably wouldn't get her as much money as that beauty had...
Now, Lin Yuwei and Shen Yanci have been married for three years.
2.
Their married life was loving, too. They had never argued in three years. Shen Yanci was a little cool, but important people had to save face, and they were incredibly compatible in bed!!!
Lin Yuwei wasn't good at her job, but she kept the home perfectly organized. She even did something bold and outrageous
She had Shen Yanci's name tattooed on her chest.
During every passionate encounter afterward, Shen Yanci could see her sincerity.
As their bodies trembled, the woman's soft, heated lips kissed her gently, her gaze deep and tender as she took in their love.
Life couldn't be more! Wonderful!
Until one day, Lin Yuwei heard from someone else that Shen Yanci didn't love her at all and had only treated her as a substitute for someone else.
Lin Yuwei paused.
“Hahaha, you're just jealous of how close my wife and I are, so you're making that up, right?”
“There's no way. My wife loves me so much. We've been married for three years and always gotten along. I love my wife, and she loves me. There's no one else.”
“You're just trying to ruin our relationship... Anyway, I have to go home and cook for my wife. She's getting off work soon.”
3.
Later...
The rumors seemed to be true.
Later still, Lin Yuwei, the woman hopelessly in love, was said to have died.
She lay inside an urn, burned to ashes, completely dead.
She was not even allowed to be laid to rest.
Her soul was imprisoned there, denied peace even in death.
Theme: If the spring breeze feels compassion for flowers, could it let me be young once more?
Wen Xia is still very sinister

It's so sweet, it's finished with flowers~
When did you regain your memory?
See you in the evening. Sisters, can I still be saved? 💔
This book is finished and I feel like I have nothing left to read. I have finished two of the four and only two can be read. One of them should be read again. I suddenly feel so miserable 😭
The whole text is very fast-paced! It's good to watch, but the ending is a bit unexpected, but I'm satisfied after watching the extras! The whole journey is as exciting as a roller coaster.
""Then I'll give you a plan for this time. If it "catches a big bug for the author~" opportunity
""Have a little look" is a big bug for the author~ See less
Woohoo, I'm very interested 😭 😭
