Abandoned by his parents when he was young, he was raised by adoptive parents who were both police officers. But when he was three, they died in the line of duty, and his uncle raised him. When he grew up, he became a forensic pathologist, only to come across his uncle's corpse. He hadn't even been able to see his uncle one last time, much less call him "Dad." After his uncle died, he learned of his own background from his uncle's belongings. His biological parents then showed up, trying to seize his property.
