Ning Qingwu grew up pampered and cherished. When she was sixteen, she read lots of romantic tales and insisted that she wanted to marry the man of her dreams.

Unable to withstand her pleas, her father entered her name and Qing Chao's in the marriage register. They had grown up together, and the old man believed their match was destined by heaven and couldn't go wrong.

But no one could have imagined that five years later, Qing Chao, who had treated her coldly and never once been intimate with her, would run her through the heart with his sword on the Heart-Reading Terrace before a crowd of tens of thousands.

Coughing up blood, Ning Qingwu thought: If I could live my life over... I'd make sure to find someone to deal with you!

When she opened her eyes again, Lord Ning was looking for a suitable husband for her.

Ning Qingwu promptly tossed out the portrait of the scumbag and rummaged around until she found a portrait she hadn't gotten to see in her previous life. She slapped it down on the table.

The plot dictates that the protagonist will flatten his stronghold and take him down as a KPI.

To lie low, scheme, and avoid being killed off by the plot, Xie Jingku hides his identity and pretends to be a beautiful, sickly, lazy good-for-nothing.

He can't lift a finger, gets out of breath if he moves, and coughs blood at the slightest effort. Other than making a little money, he's utterly useless.

Then he meets the original story's heroine, who was treated as a walking ATM. Unable to let her go, he makes the silly little bird his pampered wife.

Ning Qingwu: "Get moving, Xie Lan! Swing your sword a hundred times today, and we'll be one step closer to taking down Qing Chao!"

Xie Jingku: "..."

Later, Xie Jingku's true identity is exposed, and he falls in love. But the silly little bird is always ready to use him and run.

Unable to take it any longer, he pins her in his arms. "Where else do you think you can go besides my side, Qingqing?"

1. An old-fashioned flavor mixed with modern techniques, all thrown into one pot.

2. Revisions will be made from time to time, so there may be inconsistencies between earlier and later chapters.

3. The setting is fictional, so don't overanalyze it. The couple gets a sweet happy ending.

The scumbag isn't the hero. He'll chase after her all the way to the grave, only to get knocked flying.

The hero transmigrates into a book, and the heroine is reborn. This is a practice piece.
