After waking from centuries of secluded cultivation deep in the mountains, Jiang Li worries that finding a job in the modern world will be difficult. Then a job drops right into her lap: owner of a murder mystery game shop, complete with free employees.
A ghost in embroidered shoes, a vengeful spirit in a mirror, a zombie general...
The ferocious ghosts plan to teach the new owner a lesson and make her serve them obediently.
That very day, Jiang Li uses sheer force to teach them how to be good ghosts!
A remarkably customer-friendly murder mystery game shop in T City goes viral online. Its immersive sets are top-notch, the scripts are thrilling, and the actors are incredible. The online queue is already booked through next year.
As the shop grows more popular, Jiang Li realizes that one shop is far too small to accommodate all the new ghosts she keeps meeting.
She buys shops and entire streets, expanding the business into a whole murder mystery game district.
The new ghost employees, fresh from the grind of office life, find their boss "pretty easy to talk to" and secretly submit a business plan for the future. Even in death, you have to hustle!
Ghosts with skills beyond murder mystery games can be assigned to other jobs and given a new lease on life.
The affiliated hotel, restaurants, and merchandise shops can all be up and running too.
Jiang Li waves a hand and takes the CEO's seat, rising to the peak of life.
As for the business empire, you professionals can handle that. I'll deal with any ghosts who won't behave!
When the relevant authorities award her the title of Honorary Mayor and place an entire district under her jurisdiction, Jiang Li finally realizes that things may have gotten out of hand.
The Special Affairs Department: "Thank you, boss, for eliminating the instability caused by supernatural forces and creating new sources of productivity and consumer growth, helping drive high-quality economic development!"
Then Heaven's Will suddenly grants her a divine office. Somehow, she's become the new King of Hell?
Is the Hall of the Underworld now her office in town?
Do all the ghosts in the world belong to me now!?
