The officials had been warned by her and didn't dare say a word. He couldn't find out anything.
He went back to the small frontier town and saw her again. He volunteered that he was a general of the Xiao Kingdom. She wasn't surprised and told him she'd heard about it from her elder brother.
At the border between the two kingdoms, soldiers from the Qi Kingdom were killing innocent civilians.
Her residence was close by, so she sent word back and volunteered to go deal with it.
The Xiao Kingdom also sent Shen Che.
When they met, they stared at each other in disbelief.

"My elder brother is tied up with something, so he asked me to come see how things are going. He'll be here in a couple of days." Wow, he believed her.
After the matter was settled, the emperor heard gossip from his officials and summoned Shen Che to the capital. He asked whether Shen Che would be willing to marry the princess if he arranged the match.
Shen Che refused. He didn't want to marry a princess. He was in love with the girl from the small frontier town.
