I Became the Star of the Game After Playing an NPC

As a professional role-player, Yishi Wudeng was asked to play an unplayable NPC in Love in the World of Detective Fiction. His job was to guide new players, welcoming everyone who entered the game into its world with warmth. He played his role with the utmost dedication. He gently comforted players when they were unhappy and rushed to the front lines when they were in danger. Until the players saw that everyone had gone to save the romance targets. Yishi Wudeng was tied up in a basement, his black hair stained with blood, his long fingers pressed against his wound as he gasped in disheveled exhaustion. The culprit taunted him. "Look. Nobody cares about you." With blood at the corner of his mouth, he gave a light cough. "It's all right, as long as they're safe." They went to thank the romance target who had defused the bomb. Just one wall away, Yishi Wudeng, injured while helping them, lay quietly in a hospital bed, alone in the cold silence as he listened to the lively commotion on the other side. Holding his chest, he looked forlorn. "Shouldn't I have gotten used to this by now?" The players were so devastated they lost their minds. They stormed the game developers, demanding that Yishi Wudeng be given a romance progress bar. Then they saw the glaring red: 0. No matter what they did, Yishi Wudeng's progress bar never changed. He seemed accustomed to loneliness and no longer accepted anyone's kindness. Yet he was always there to protect the players. In the glow of the flames, Yishi Wudeng looked back and smiled, breaking every player's heart. "It's fine. Nobody cares about me anyway." Then he gave his life without hesitation to save the other romance targets. "Don't! Wudeng, my light, we're sorry! Aaaaaaaaaah!" Reader's guide: 1. The ending is definitely tragic. No last-minute reversal. 2. Updates are irregular. I hope you understand that I may spend a long time revising until the story reaches the standard I want. 3. This is a free story, so I do not accept bad reviews or writing advice. Theme: Justice and fairness will never be absent.
