[Removed the entertainment-industry portion from the original blurb | Childhood friends | He has a secret crush]
Jiang Yuli and Zhu Mian have been childhood friends who never got along.
When they were sixteen, they both got into Jiangcheng No. 1 High School and became the talk of the school in their own ways.
On graduation day, rumors about them dating spread like wildfire. Zhu Mian wanted to clear things up, so she asked Jiang Yuli the day before the holiday began.
"Jiang Yuli, do you like me?"
"Liar gets turned into a puppy."
In a shady alley on a summer afternoon, Jiang Yuli carries her schoolbag. The tall, slender boy casts a shadow through the gaps in the sunlight. He glances at her lazily, then suddenly lets out a laugh that could mean anything.
"Only a puppy would like you."
Zhu Mian freezes for a moment. "Only a pig would like you!"
She chases after him in a fury. "Jiang Yuli, give me back my schoolbag!!"

On graduation day, they go their separate ways, and their ill-fated paths part there.
Zhu Mian hears from Jiang Yuli again during an exclusive radio interview. By then, he's become one of the industry's top composers. His song "The Stars Don't Speak" has taken the internet by storm, and the original demo is worth a fortune.
One day, Zhu Mian happens to find the gift Jiang Yuli gave her when he was eighteen.
It's the original demo of "The Stars Don't Speak."
She puts it in the record player. When it reaches the line, "The stars don't speak, but he loves you so much," the song abruptly stops.
Three seconds later, Jiang Yuli's voice comes through.
"I'm Jiang Yuli."
"I really like you."
-
"Didn't you say only a puppy would like me?"
"Mm." Jiang Yuli leans closer, looking perfectly nonchalant. "I'm a puppy."
