Synopsis:
The year 2800 of the Galactic Era.
The research vessel carrying Lu Meng met with disaster, plummeting onto the planet that was once humanity’s home: Blue Star.
Twenty-seven centuries had passed since the last batch of New Humans evacuated their home planet.
The steel behemoths built by humankind in a distant, benighted age had either collapsed and rotted away, become overgrown with vines, or turned into dens for wild beasts.
Scientists called this harsh ecosystem an “urban jungle.”
Darkness, silence, and danger at every turn: these were the hallmarks of the urban jungle.
A frail New Human raised in a beautiful new century, Lu Meng had one thing to say: “Requesting a restart!”
And then
A white figure plunged from the summit of a high-rise, light as a spirit.
He collided with a pair of quiet, sorrowful, gentle eyes.
The beauty wore a longbow across her back and held a sharp sword. Her snow-white tunic, with its distinctly Roman style, fluttered in the wind.
In soft, somewhat unpolished Galactic Standard, she asked with concern:
“Traveler, are you... all right?”
*
“This is a world governed by the law of the jungle, the golden age of gatherers and hunters.
Welcome to the Third Stone Age.”
Beneath the lamplight, the beauty said this as she used a bone needle to mend his ragged clothes.
*
When I arrived, this place was steeped in savagery and ignorance.
When I departed, she had already broken free of gravity’s bonds and set off toward the countless worlds of the galaxy.
The most romantic thing I can imagine is building a great civilization hand in hand with you.
