Yuan Piaomiao served as the chief scholar of the Piaomiao Academy for decades. He spent his life teaching and nurturing countless students, earning the reverence of the world as the Xiang Seat.
But the man renowned throughout the world had not only killed his eldest disciple's beloved, destroyed his second disciple's clan, sent his youngest disciple to be used in a living-dead experiment, and caused the death of his blood-related cousin, but had even sacrificed fellow cultivators who fought on the same side as him.
Once, he was the compassionate Linxiang Immortal, as benevolent as a bodhisattva. But the warm, gentle light around him had gradually grown dim.
*
On the Execution Immortal Platform, furious righteous cultivators demanded that Yuan Piaomiao atone with his life.
He calmly gazed at the horizon and sighed softly. "Go ahead and hate me, just like everyone else..."
*
Alone in the world, Yuan Piaomiao did not hesitate to choose the most extreme way to live and die alongside the demon lord.
The ruthless demon lord bowed his head in defeat and smiled fondly. "At last, you are in hell with me."
Covered in dust, his bright eyes cold, Yuan Piaomiao replied, "The bodhisattva vows that so long as hell is not empty, he will not become a Buddha. I, too, should thank you for making this possible!"

After the Linxiang Immortal's soul was utterly destroyed, the truth came to light.
The eldest disciple cut off the arm he had once used to strike his master, then guarded his master's monument for the rest of his life.
The youngest disciple plunged into the Xiang River, hoping to find even a trace of him again.
The second disciple held the last set of teachings he had written, his heart turned to ash.
Countless people bowed in remorseful reverence, holding pale funeral couplets and reciting mournful eulogies as they knelt beneath his statue.
They knelt until the ground became a mountain of corpses and a sea of bones, all to fulfill his final ascension.
1. This is not a wish-fulfillment story. The plot takes priority, with romance as a secondary element.
2. Written for my own enjoyment, suitable for readers with varied tastes.
3. Current progress: outlining. I'll be revising the story repeatedly, so updates will be sporadic for now.
Theme: Cherish peace.
