The author is working hard to build up a stockpile of chapters, so here’s a little preview.
“Mm, lovely weather, and this is a great spot. Perfect for a nap. Ah, this is so comfortable!” Ouyang Yingqi lies across the branches of the biggest tree in the knights’ order, swinging her feet back and forth.
Suddenly, she spots someone walking this way. She squints, recognizes the person, and a plan pops into her head. Ouyang Yingqi’s smile grows even brighter.
Nosel is heading to the office. As he passes the corner of the corridor, he sees the little girl his father told him to look after, lounging comfortably in a tree.
It reminds him of the second day of the knights’ order entrance exam, when she was sprawled just like this on the sofa in his family’s reception room.
His father had been home that day, which was unusual. Nosel had never seen him show so much patience with anyone besides his mother. His father told him she was the child of an old friend, five months younger than Noelle. Her house wasn’t ready yet, so she would be staying with them for the time being.
He had already met her. She had chosen his order during the entrance exam just the day before, and now he was seeing her again.
That day...
By the time Nosel came back to himself, he had already reached the tree. But when he looked up, the little girl was nowhere to be seen.
“What was the captain thinking about so seriously just now?” a lively voice asked from behind him.
Nosel turned to look at the girl’s radiant smile and decided that no matter what she said next, he would refuse.
“Captain, are you free? Let’s make a bet! With something at stake. If you win, I’ll do one thing you ask, as long as it isn’t a crime! And you can take your time deciding. Deal?”
Nosel could hear her excitement in her voice, but he stayed silent.
Seeing her plan had failed, Ouyang Yingqi sighed. “Forget it. I’m not the one who’ll regret it anyway.” Then she turned and left.
At the time, Nosel was just glad she hadn’t kept pestering him.
A year and a half later, Nosel can only regret it. Why didn’t he take that bet? Then he could have asked her not to disappear from his world. “Little girl, where are you? I swear I’ll never refuse to make a bet with you again.”
This story is full of my own headcanons, so it’s bound to be out of character. My writing is terrible, I can barely remember the plot, and the descriptions are a mess. But it’s the end of the month, and I’m out of food at home, so I’m starting a story to grow my own. If you don’t like it, please don’t flame me. Thanks!
Theme: Grow your own food and eat it yourself
The author's diet probably doesn't include xiaolongbao, soy milk, fried dough sticks, etc. I don't think I've seen these in comics or anime. These are too Chinese.
There are no comments, so I'll go first. Come on!
