Bright as the Moonlight

Lu Chen was born into a prominent family. Handsome and proud, refined and genteel, he rose to an important position at a young age and became famous throughout the land.

Zhu Yizhen had been frail and sickly since childhood. Her family doted on her, afraid she might fall if they held her, or melt if they kept her in their mouths.

After her parents died, her maternal aunt, who had married into the Lu family in the capital, took her in.

Lu Chen had always kept his distance from his delicate, sickly cousin who had come from far away.

After an accident, Lu Chen gained the ability to hear Zhu Yizhen's thoughts and sense her emotions.

From then on, Lu Chen had to look after Zhu Yizhen's feelings every moment. When she was angry, he bought her a gold hairpin to comfort her. When she was sad, he bought her fine clothes to cheer her up. When she was sick, he searched everywhere for good medicine. He even had to help her send letters to the man she loved, just so she wouldn't be upset.

Meanwhile, Zhu Yizhen secretly wrote in her journal in her room: A Few Things My Cousin Has Done While Secretly in Love with Me.

Lu Chen was deeply troubled by this, and finally couldn't take it anymore. He knocked on her door and warned her, "I'll give you the hot spring villa outside the capital. You are not to let your imagination run wild anymore."

Zhu Yizhen silently added another line: What am I supposed to do? My cousin loves me too much.
